Daltonganj, September 5: On Teachers’ Day, the Palamu district administration launched ‘Palamu Ki Pathshala’, a digital learning initiative to help students prepare for secondary plus Two examinations.
Palamu Deputy Commissioner Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat launched the online teaching assistance service during a Teachers’ Day programme at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Smriti Bhavan.
Six subjects, question bank and study material
The platform will provide students with easily accessible learning support across six subjects, including mathematics, science and languages.
Shekhawat said the platform would also feature a question bank containing questions expected to be useful for upcoming examinations.
District Education Officer Sandeep Kumar said the initiative was conceived to improve the quality of education in the district. It will provide students with study notes and recorded lectures as additional learning support.

‘Quality education builds human resources’
Emphasising the importance of education, Shekhawat said roads, bridges and industries alone do not make a nation strong, arguing that the real strength of a country lies in its human resources, which are shaped by quality education.
The administration is also exploring the possibility of providing coaching support to students. Shekhawat said resources could potentially be mobilised through NITI Aayog or other means.
DC acknowledges teacher shortage in rural schools
Shekhawat also acknowledged the disparity in the teacher-student ratio between rural and urban government schools.
He said rural schools continue to face shortages of teachers, while some urban schools have comparatively more teachers.
He also pointed to the preference among some teachers, particularly women teachers, for postings in and around towns, citing health and children’s education as reasons.
Recalling his own teachers, Patel and Parmar, the DC said they had played an important role in shaping his life and career.
43 teachers felicitated
A total of 43 government school teachers, including six women teachers, were felicitated during the Teachers’ Day programme.
Teacher organisation general secretary Amresh Kumar Singh appreciated the work of District Superintendent of Education Anurag Ekka and DEO Sandeep Kumar for initiatives aimed at improving education in the district.
A government school teacher, Dr Raj Kumar, was also presented a prototype HDFC cheque of Rs 15,000.
The programme, which began around 40 minutes behind schedule, was described by organisers as simple but well conducted.
