Daltonganj, July 3: The Town police have cracked a bizarre case of crime where a youth who was a fitness junkie and his boastful talk that ‘I will see you’ so irked another youth of the same age and caste that he killed the fitness junkie with multiple knifing and multiple crushing with stone of around 5 kg in weight.
The crime took place on the first half of the night of June 30. Again, the murder took place in the town.
The second half of the night was July 1 the date of the new 3 laws.
The Town police led by its OC Deobrata Poddar and his team rushed to the crime scene without losing any precious minutes to book this case before 12 on the intervening night of June 30 and July 1 under the provisions of the outgoing sections of the IPC.
The father of the deceased Sagar, Sanjay, too responded fast and lodged the FIR before 12 on the intervening night of June 30 and July 1. The Town police worked too hard for it.
The Town police succeeded in many ways. First, it recovered the weapon a bigger-than-normal size blood-soaked knife but not to be called a dagger and again the blood-soaked stone. Two prime tools for murder police had been recovered at night. Personal belongings like ‘gamcha’ and slippers of the accused were recovered from the crime scene.
Poddar and his team knew they were heading to crack this case faster as they had by then the tools for murder recovered and they were not wrong.
They caught 2 youths for this murder identified as Golu and Niraj. The two confessed to their crime.
SDPO Sadar Mani Bhushan Prasad’s joint press briefing with Poddar today unfolded the case which looked like a sad tale of bloated ego and boastful talk of the deceased and the accused.
Mani Bhushan Prasad said, “Sagar Dome was a gym goer. He was puffed up with his body. He threw a challenge to Golu that he would see him as he had muscles and strength.”
“Golu took it as a personal challenge. He felt offended the way Sagar told him that he would see him,” added the SDPO.
Golu started making plans. The plan was deadly. The plan was to kill Sagar. And before that Golu and Sagar and one more Niraj had a party of wine, fish etc.
Mani Bhushan Prasad said Golu spent 600 rupees on arranging wine while Sagar bought fish and bottled water.
The trio ate and drank. Then came the final moment. It was a well-premeditated crime. It was well-planned and brutally executed.
Mani Bhushan Prasad told the press, ” When eating and drinking were over Golu reminded Sagar of his remark as to how he had once told him that he would see him and now it was him Golu seeing Sagar and this triggered into a major brawl where Golu picked the knife not normal in size and made multiple piercing beginning with the throat of Sagar.”
Niraj didn’t sit idle. He picked a stone around 5 kg in weight and began banging on the body of Sagar till he died. Sagar the gym goer couldn’t get time or chance to escape or to survive. His luck failed him as he had no clue of what Golu was going to do with him.
The SDPO said SP Reeshma Ramesan formed a team headed by Poddar along with Anant Kumar Singh and others to crack this case which was done with clinical precision.
