Pema Khandu takes oath as Arunachal Pradesh CM for third consecutive term

Itanagar, June 13: BJP leader Pema Khandu was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday for the third term in a row.

Lieutenant General Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik (retd.), the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, administered the oath of office to 11 MLAs today, including the Chief Minister and his deputy, in the state assembly.

Union Ministers Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Kiren Rijiju, and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended the oath taking ceremony at the DK State Convention Centre in Itanagar.

Chowna Mein takes oath as Deputy CM, 11 cabinet ministers sworn in

Chowna Mein was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, marking his second consecutive term in the role.

Biyuram Wahge, Nyato Dukam, Gabriel Denwang Wangsu, Pasang Dorjee Sona, Mama Natung, Dasanglu Pul, and Kento Jini were among the 11 cabinet members who were sworn in during the ceremony.

BJP won 46 seats out of 60 in Arunachal Pradesh

44-year-old Khandu took on the role of Chief Minister for the first time in 2016.

On Wednesday, he was re-elected as the leader of the BJP Legislature Party in Arunachal Pradesh, securing his third consecutive term as Chief Minister.

In the simultaneous elections with the Lok Sabha polls, the BJP won 46 seats in the 60-member Arunachal Pradesh assembly. Additionally, the party secured ten seats unopposed before the elections were conducted.
