Petition filed in Jharkhand HC against Ranchi Home Guard recruitment

Ranchi, Sept 9: A petition has been filed in the Jharkhand High Court against the ongoing Home Guard recruitment in the state capital, Ranchi.

The petition has been submitted by Devraj Chatar. The petition names the Ranchi District Deputy Commissioner, Home Guard DIG, Home Secretary, District Commandant Ranchi, and other officials as respondents.

The petition requests that a stay be imposed on Advertisement No. 01/2025 issued for Home Guard recruitment and seeks the cancellation of the rule mandating 100 per cent local resident recruitment for urban and rural Home Guards.

Earlier, a similar petition had been filed by the Jharkhand Home Guard Welfare Association against the ongoing Home Guard recruitment in the Chaibasa district.
