IIT ISM officials said the inception of the hostel was in 2014, which was completed in 2023, and stands as a testament to unwavering dedication and innovation. It has emerged as a symbol of sophisticated infrastructure and advanced academia.

Since July 2023, the Aquamarine Hostel has served as the residence for 2nd and 3rd-year students, offering more than accommodation; it fosters a dynamic learning environment within the IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.

This hostel is equipped with modern amenities including 16 lifts, high-speed internet, and an efficient fire-fighting and power distribution system to accommodate and cater to 2000 students.

These eco-friendly measures ensure a harmonious coexistence with nature, exemplifying environmental consciousness within the precincts of the Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad.

Beyond its physical attributes, the Aquamarine Hostel epitomises an institution dedicated to superior education, distinguished faculty and forthcoming field courses within the Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad. It embodies an unwavering commitment to holistic student welfare, fostering an environment synonymous with quality education and world-class facilities.

The officials said in consonance with the government’s focus on tribal welfare, IIT (ISM) also imparts training to different tribal artisans of Dhanbad and ensures the sale of products made by them through ACIC Foundation.

Apart from this, the Department of Management Studies of the institute is also conducting a series of workshops in the remote areas of Jamtara under the Department of Science Technology funded project to ensure the well-being of tribal people.
