Modi highlighted that the recent expansion of BRICS, which included the addition of new members last year, has enhanced the group’s inclusivity and broadened its agenda for global welfare.
The summit, taking place in Russia, is perceived as a bid by non-Western powers to showcase their influence in light of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the escalating tensions in West Asia.
Modi is anticipated to engage in a series of bilateral meetings, including discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, during the summit.
