PM Modi to lay foundation, dedicate railway projects worth over Rs 85,000 crores tomorrow

Jamshedpur, March 11: In a major boost to railways’ infrastructure and connectivity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, March 12 will lay the foundation stone and dedicate various railway projects (about 6000 nos.)  worth over Rs 85,000 crores in Jharkhand, Odisha and other states.

As of January 2024, 82 Vande Bharat train services are operating across the Indian Railways, connecting states having Broad Gauge (B.G.) electrified network. These Vande Bharat Express trains touch 24 states and 256 districts.

With the introduction of 10 more Vande Bharat trains (10 pairs), 102 services (51 pairs) will be operational across Indian Railways.

The Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express will be operational from tomorrow.

The train will run six days a week (except Thursdays)

Timing– Ranchi (Dep) – 05.10 am. Varanasi (Arr.)- 1 pm;  Varanasi (Dep) – 4.05 pm. Ranchi (Arr.)- 11.55 pm.

Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs)

In the pursuit to enhance the wellness and welfare of passengers visiting railway stations, Indian Railways conceptualized a policy framework to establish Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs) in circulating areas and concourses of stations which are operated by Licensees.

Two kendras under SER jurisdiction – at Sini (Chakradharpur Division) and Kharagpur station will be inaugurated.

Rail coach restaurants

To provide a unique dining ambience to the passengers, the Indian Railway has been opening Rail Coach Restaurants at its major stations and points.

This initiative is capturing the attention of travellers seeking a unique culinary encounter.

The Rail Coach Restaurants aims to cater to the needs of passengers and the public apart from generating non-fare revenue for railways.

Two such rail coach restaurants will come up at Rourkela and Tatanagar railway stations

New Railway Lines

The third line between the Nimpura- Kalaikunda of the Kharagpur- Adityapur 3rd line project will become operational.
