Jamshedpur, Nov 6: A notorious drug dealer Doly Perveen was shot at and injured allegedly by his nephew at Adityapur Muslim Bustee on Sunday evening, leading the police to lay siege on the urban slum on Monday.

On being shot at,  Doly Perveen was rushed to the Tata Main Hospital from where she was shifted to RIMS today as her condition is described as critical.

A resident of Adityapur Muslim Bustee, Doly was released on bail recently after she was arrested in July 2020 for running a racket of supplying “brown sugar” in Adityapur Muslim Bustee which has turned into a hub of brown sugar.

After she had been arrested, her brother had taken control of the drug business, making the business spread further in the new areas, including various localities in Jamshedpur.

It is said that after she returned from jail, she made her bid to get back control of the business, triggering a dispute between the close relatives.

The police have taken two persons including Doly’s mother in custody and are conducting raids everywhere to arrest those involved in the gun-shot attack on her.
