New Delhi, March 30: President Droupadi Murmu awarded the Bharat Ratna to four distinguished individuals on Saturday, which included two former Prime Ministers, namely Chaudhary Charan Singh and PV Narasimha Rao. The highest civilian award in the nation was also given to agronomist MS Swaminathan and former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur.

This year, the central government unveiled a list of five individuals to be awarded the Bharat Ratna, among whom is BJP leader LK Advani.

According to sources, President Murmu will visit senior BJP leader LK Advani at his home and present him with the coveted honour. They said that this decision was made in light of veteran BJP leader Advani’s medical condition.
