Protocol breach at Daltonganj airstrip angers Jharkhand Finance Minister

Daltonganj, October 6: A serious breach of protocol at the Chiyanki Air Strip in Daltonganj on Monday irked the Jharkhand Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore, who fumed over the passivity of the officer concerned about the protocol at the air strip.

Speaking to this correspondent Kishore said, “The Palamu MP Vishnu Dayal Ram and I were in a car waiting to be ushered in to the airstrip. There appeared to be no officer to usher in. It’s not a minor lapse. It’s quite offending.”

Administrative sources conceded there was a lapse of the maintenance of protocol, which was most avoidable and unfortunate.

Administrative sources further said the officer concerned, who was to ensure the protocol didn’t inform the higher officials about the arrival of the Member of Parliament and the state minister at the air strip for the touching down of the Governor cum Chancellor of the universities of state Santosh Kumar Gangwar who was to grace the third convocation ceremony of the Nilamber Pitamber University (NPU) in Daltonganj on Monday.

The minister further said, “I am not the one to take things lying down where the esteem and dignity of the minister is tried to throw to the wind. It must be found out by the administration as to how this happened after all.”

The erring official is to be showcaused to explain this breach of protocol at the air strip, which so incurred the wrath of the minister Kishore, said administrative sources.

Sources said the minister lost his cool right before the Governor who too had not expected such a breach of protocol coming to the Member of Parliament and minister of Jharkhand.

Sources said the governor later offered the minister to travel with him in his car.
