Amritsar, March 1: Unidentified assailants shot and killed an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) worker in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district on Friday, police stated.

This incident happened while Gurpreet Singh, also known as Gopi Chohla, was driving to the Kapurthala district to attend to a court case. Police said he was travelling alone.

Police reported that upon reaching the railway crossing between Fatehbad and Goindwal Sahib, Singh was targeted by assailants who had been trailing him. They fired shots indiscriminately before fleeing the scene.

Police officers headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravisher Singh arrived at the scene after learning about the occurrence.

They added that numerous police teams have been assembled to apprehend the attackers.
