Jamshedpur, Sept 25: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty winds (30–40 kmph) at isolated places over Jharkhand between September 25 and 28.
Meanwhile, the line of withdrawal of the southwest monsoon has now advanced through Rampur Bushahr, Haridwar, Muradabad, Etawah, Banswara, Valabh, Vidyanagar, Veraval, and extended up to 20.5°N/69°E.
Cyclonic Developments in Bay of Bengal
A low-pressure area persists over north Odisha and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal and Gangetic West Bengal, with an associated cyclonic circulation up to 7.6 Km above mean sea level. It is expected to weaken gradually over the next 12 hours.

Simultaneously, a new cyclonic circulation has formed over coastal areas of central Myanmar and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal.
Under its influence, another low-pressure system is likely to form today over the north and adjoining central Bay.
The system is expected to move westward and intensify into a depression over the northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal by September 26, off the South Odisha–North Andhra Pradesh coasts.
According to forecasts, the system is very likely to make landfall around September 27 between the two states.
Weather Over Jharkhand
Monsoon activity remained normal in the state over the last 24 hours.
Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms was recorded at one or two locations.
The IMD has advised residents to remain cautious of lightning strikes and gusty winds, especially during outdoor activities on September 27–28.
