Ramgarh, Dec 15: Suman Murmu, a class 11 student of Kasturba Gandhi Avasiya Girls School, Murpa, in Gola block, has been selected for national-level Karate.
The Jharkhand team will participate in the national U-17 karate competition organized from 16 to Dec. 19 at Chhatrashal Stadium, Delhi, under the Jharkhand School Games Federation of India.
Upon the selection of Suman Murmu, the school organized a programme and honoured her.
The Warden said that the student will participate in the karate competition organized in Delhi. The school management bid farewell to the participating students by presenting them with bouquets and shawls for participating in the competition. Also, they were motivated to perform well at the national level.

BEEO Sahdev Karmakar said that girls are becoming self-reliant in every sector of society. For female students, Karate can take them to new heights by adopting it as a career and for self-defence.
“Girls are staying caught up in any field, be it space flight or the field of education and playground; girls are hoisting their flag in every area,” he added.
Sports teacher Mithlesh Kumar said that this training has been started from the point of view of self-reliance and safety of girls.
Warden Reena Chaudhary, Sushila Kumari, Asha Tirkey, Sunita Lakra, Meenu Kumari Hansda, Mano Murmu, Malti Kumari, Sangeeta Kumari, Holita Kumari, Geeta Kumari, Tilasi Kumari, Neha Kumari, Priyanka Kumari, Prakash Kujur etc. were present on occasion.
