Ranchi, Feb 1: To ensure the success of the special Lok Adalat focused on marriage and cheque dishonour cases, DLSA Secretary Kamlesh Behera held a meeting with court-nodal police officers at the DLSA Hall, Ranchi, where he issued several important instructions.

He emphasized the need to serve as many notices as possible to litigants so that a maximum number of cases can be resolved in the upcoming Lok Adalat.

The special Lok Adalat on marriage and cheque dishonour cases is scheduled for February 22, with pre-Lok Adalat meetings taking place from February 17 to February 21. These meetings will discuss relevant cases, and notices are being sent from Family Courts and N.I. Act Courts to ensure maximum settlements.

To facilitate this, earlier meetings were also held with judicial officers, mediators, and advocates under the chairmanship of the Judicial Commissioner-cum-Chairman and the DLSA Secretary.

Kamlesh Behera reiterated that the goal of this special Lok Adalat is to settle as many cases as possible related to marriage and cheque dishonour. He directed police officers to collect notices daily from the DLSA office, ensure their prompt delivery to the respective police stations, and request station in-charges to serve the notices at the earliest with police assistance. The service reports must then be submitted to the concerned courts to maximize case settlements.

Additionally, the DLSA Secretary announced a meeting with all Ranchi police station in-charges on February 5. To inform the public, posters and banners have been put up across the city.

Furthermore, Behera instructed DLSA’s Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) to spread awareness in villages, panchayats, blocks, roads, intersections, and crowded areas by distributing pamphlets and leaflets, ensuring that more people are informed about the Lok Adalat.
