Ranchi, Nov 6: The opposition BJP today made a blistering attack on the ‘One vote, seven guarantees’ jointly issued by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal and CPI(ML).
BJP state spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo, while addressing a press conference at the state headquarters, said that the people of the country have faith in Modi’s guarantee, not in the ruling coalition’s promises of seven lies in exchange for one vote.
Pratul, referring to the 2019 manifesto of the JMM, said that they had made a total of 114 promises to the people. “But in 5 years, this government did not fulfil a single promise. The people who have been cheated for 5 years will this time show the JMM-led government the way out. They do not trust the false promises of this thug alliance at all,” he maintained.
He said that the JMM in 2019 had said that within 2 years of the formation of the government, all the vacant government posts in the state will be filled. “The situation is that according to government data, 2,87,000 posts are still vacant. They had announced the establishment of de-addiction centres in every block, talked about making a merit list by giving 10% extra marks to candidates from rural areas for jobs, talked about 25 lakh jobs in 5 years, promised to give ₹5000 and ₹7000 per month allowance to the unemployed. All their promises proved to be false,” he pointed out.

Similarly, the BJP leader said that the JMM had made big announcements to frame land rights law, employment rights law, to make a law for the direct appointment of one member of every martyr’s family in government jobs, a pension scheme for the families of the martyrs of Jharkhand movement, etc. Not even one of them was implemented, he added.
“The JMM had talked about regularizing all Anganwadi workers, assistants, cooks. All types of education from primary to PhD would be free for girls, women’s college in every subdivision, ₹2000 per month for cooking expenses to women of every poor family, and establishment of one Mahila Thana for a population of three lakh. All the announcements went in vain,” he pointed out.
Pratul said that in the chapter of the rights of the poor of the Nishchay Patra, there was talk of giving ₹72000 every year to all poor families, three-room housing, old age pension amount of ₹2500 per month. “Till date no one has received anything,” he said.
The BJP leader said that the JMM also cheated farmers, Adivasis, and Dalits by not fulfilling its promises of Kisan Bank, subsidy on diesel purchase and electricity consumption for irrigation, free electricity connection for irrigation through boring, opening of model farmer schools in every block, and strictly implementing the PESA law.
Pratul said that in the manifesto, they had made big announcements in education and health. But even today 96% middle schools do not have permanent principals. 68% of the total teacher posts in primary, middle and high schools are vacant.
“They have no announcement for 65,000 para teachers. Whereas BJP has promised to regularize these para teachers. Under the Guruji Credit Card Scheme, only 42 students have benefited so far while 40,000 students had applied,” he pointed out.
“Under administrative reforms, there was a big announcement to make Palamu, Chaibasa and Hazaribagh sub-capitals. Till date, not even a single step has been taken forward in this regard,” he said.
“There was talk of curbing bribery. But the entire government was engaged in bribery,” he added.
“The people who were deceived by their false promises in 2019 will show them the way out in 2024. On November 23, the sunset of the most corrupt government in the history of Jharkhand will come,” he signed off.
