Jamshedpur, Feb 6: Rourkela Loco Shed, which falls under South Eastern Railway’s Chakradharpur Division has bagged the Best Performing Shed Award among all zonal Railways in the category of “Homing Three Phase Locos”.
The shed has been adjudged as the winner for best maintenance practices and to achieve less number of failures in terms of FRPCPY (Failure Rate Percentage per Year).
Rourkela Loco Shed has also secured second position in the category of “Least Number (in percentage) of Major Overdue Locomotives”.

Apart from this, Kharagpur Loco Shed which falls under the Kharagpur division has secured second position in the category of “Unscheduled Lifting of Locos on Ownership Basis”.
The Union Ministry of Railways has sanctioned cash awards for the Rourkela Loco Shed and Kharagpur Loco Shed in recognition of their excellent performance.
