Mathura, August 7: In the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, a criminal with a one-lakh rupee bounty from the Mukhtar Ansari gang was killed in an encounter with the state police’s Special Task Force (STF) on Wednesday morning.
According to STF sources, the task force had received information about the presence of Pankaj Yadav, the wanted criminal with a one-lakh rupee reward, in the Farah area of Mathura.
STF team retaliated resulting in Yadav’s death
According to sources, the STF team tried to stop Yadav, who was on a motorcycle, upon reaching the spot. However, he opened fire on the team. The STF team retaliated, resulting in Yadav being killed, while one of his accomplices managed to escape.

Sources added that a pistol, a revolver, cartridges, and the motorcycle were recovered from the scene.
Yadav faced 36 cases of murder, robbery, extortion
Sources revealed that Yadav was allegedly involved in contract killings for the Mukhtar Ansari gang in Uttar Pradesh and the Shahabuddin gang in Bihar. Yadav faced 36 criminal cases including murder, robbery, dacoity, and extortion.
Yadav was also an accused in the murder of witness Ram Singh Maurya and police officer Satish in March 2010, related to the contractor Manna Singh murder case that occurred in Mau in August 2009.
