New Delhi, Sept 22: A statement from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has come in response to the U.S. decision to increase H-1B visa fees and issues related to tariffs. He said, “We cannot move forward blindly. India must take necessary steps to come out of this situation.”

Bhagwat said the challenges India is facing today are the result of a system followed for the past 2,000 years, based on a fragmented vision of development and happiness.

He emphasized that India will have to chart its own path. Bhagwat was speaking at a book launch event held in Delhi on Sunday.

He expressed confidence that India will find a way out of the current challenges, but also cautioned that similar situations may arise again in the future. He added that fragmented thinking often leads to a mindset of “me versus the rest of the world” or “us versus them.”

Bhagwat called for adopting the Sanatan vision, stressing that India should pursue development and progress through this eternal perspective and build its own way forward. Only then, he said, can the nation overcome such problems.

The RSS chief also recalled a meeting with a prominent American figure three years ago, though he did not reveal the person’s name. According to Bhagwat, the individual spoke about the possibilities of India-U.S. cooperation in areas such as security, counter-terrorism, and the economy, but repeatedly emphasized safeguarding American interests.
