Lucknow, June 23: The Samajwadi Party on Monday expelled three of its MLAs — Abhay Singh (Gosainganj), Rakesh Pratap Singh (Gauriganj), and Manoj Kumar Pandey (Unchahar) — accusing them of siding with the BJP during the recent Rajya Sabha elections and violating the party’s core principles.

The decision, the party said, followed a prolonged period of introspection and a “grace period” granted to the MLAs to reconsider their stance. However, with no sign of course correction, the SP leadership declared that there would be zero tolerance going forward for any activity contradicting the party’s pro-people, inclusive ideology.

In an official statement issued on social media platform X, the party alleged that the expelled legislators had aligned themselves with a divisive and regressive agenda that stands against farmers, women, youth, professionals, and the broader PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) ideology.

The party said that their support for an anti-socialist and communal agenda is unforgivable, adding that such acts would permanently disqualify individuals from remaining within the SP’s fold.

The statement underscored that future actions inconsistent with the party’s values of social justice and harmony would be met with strict consequences.
