Srinagar, April 23: A massive manhunt is underway to capture the terrorists responsible for the deadly attack at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam, where 26 tourists were killed and several others injured in one of the most brutal assaults in Kashmir in recent years.
The Resistance Front, a proxy outfit of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has claimed responsibility for the carnage.
Three Suspects Identified; Photo and Sketches Released
Security agencies have released a photo and sketches of three suspected terrorists involved in the attack. Among them, the individuals identified are Asif Fauji, Suleman Shah, and Abu Talha. The released image shows the suspects armed with three AK-series rifles and an M4 carbine.

Authorities believe at least two of the attackers are foreign nationals and all are affiliated with the Lashkar network.

Amit Shah Visits Attack Site, Meets Victims’ Families
Earlier today, Wednesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah reached the Baisaran meadow, the location where the terrorist attack took the lives of 26 people.
Shah arrived at the site via helicopter amid tightened security, with army personnel deployed across the region. The meadow, once a symbol of Kashmir’s scenic beauty, now bears grim reminders of the violence that unfolded.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Home Minister paid homage to the victims in a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Police Control Room in Srinagar. During the tribute, he also met with bereaved families, their grief palpable as they clung to memories of loved ones lost in the carnage.
Joining in the remembrance were Congress MP KC Venugopal and Jammu and Kashmir Congress President Tariq Hameed Karra, who also laid wreaths in honour of the deceased.

PM Modi Cuts Trip to Return
In the aftermath of the tragedy, Union Home Minister Amit Shah immediately arrived in Kashmir on Tuesday to assess the situation. He held high-level discussions with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on the ongoing investigation and the security response.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was on a visit to Saudi Arabia, returned to India ahead of schedule. He condemned the attack and assured that full support would be extended to the victims and their families.
Meanwhile, security forces are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to dismantle the terror module behind the strike and prevent any further threats.
