Bijapur, Jan 20: Security forces engaged in an encounter with Naxals in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday morning, resulting in the death of three Naxals, including two women, as reported by the police.
They added that they also recovered weapons and ammunition from their possession.
The encounter transpired at about 7:30 a.m. during a search operation near the Belam Gutta hills within the boundaries of Basaguda Police Station, according to officials.

Joint search op after receiving input
Officials stated that after receiving information about the presence of Naxals, including divisional committee member Vinod Karma, Awapalli LOS Raju Punem, ACM Vishwanath, Guddu Telam, and 20 to 25 others, the Chhattisgarh police and COBRA unit jointly launched a search operation near Belam Gutta Hills.
Officials said that after receiving the input, a team consisting of the Chhattisgarh police and the COBRA squad initiated an operation, during which an encounter occurred.
Additional search operations were still being carried out in the vicinity by security personnel.
