Bijapur, March 27: A senior police official reported on Wednesday that an exchange of fire between security forces and Naxals in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh has resulted in the deaths of six Naxals.

IG Bastar P Sundarraj stated that following a shootout in the forest vicinity near the Chikurbatti-Pusbhaka jungle in the Bijapur district, six bodies of Naxals, two of which were female, have been retrieved.
Bastar Range IG Sundarraj mentioned that the clash occurred in proximity to the Talperu river near the Chikurbatti region within the jurisdiction of the Basaguda police station.

The IG stated that during the search, the security personnel found the bodies of six deceased Naxals. The gunfight took place near the Talperu River and featured a combined team of the CRPF’s elite CoBRA unit, CRPF’s 229th battalion, and DRG.
The officer revealed that two of the six deceased Naxals were female cadres.

The officer mentioned that during the search operation, the team recovered weapons, ammunition, and various other everyday items.
