Mumbai, Oct 4: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday revealed the ODI and T20I squads for India’s upcoming tour of Australia, starting October 19, featuring three ODIs and five T20Is.

A major talking point is that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will return to action for the first time since the Champions Trophy 2025 final, but Rohit will not captain the ODI side. Shubman Gill has been appointed ODI captain, with Shreyas Iyer as his deputy.

In the ODI squad, KL Rahul and Dhruv Jurel have been selected as wicketkeepers, while the all-rounder line-up includes Nitish Kumar Reddy, Axar Patel, and Washington Sundar. Notably, Hardik Pandya has been excluded due to a niggle sustained during the Asia Cup 2025.

The fast bowling department for the ODIs consists of Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, and Harshit Rana, while Kuldeep Yadav will lead the spin attack as a specialist left-arm wrist spinner.
The T20I squad remains largely unchanged from the Asia Cup 2025 team, with Nitish Kumar Reddy being the only new inclusion. Suryakumar Yadav will captain the T20I side, with Shubman Gill serving as vice-captain.
The squad also includes Tilak Varma, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Jitesh Sharma (WK), Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Sanju Samson (WK), Rinku Singh, and Washington Sundar.
