Jamshedpur, May 31: Five first and second-semester students of B.Sc. Agriculture from Sona Devi University, Ghatsila, are currently undergoing their summer internship at the Jharkhand State Cooperative Bank Limited, Ghatsila branch.

This internship offers them valuable hands-on experience in banking operations.

Branch Manager Sudeshna Munda informed that the interns are being trained in various aspects of banking such as customer interaction, account opening procedures, file maintenance, and understanding government loan schemes.
Additionally, they will be introduced to the LAMPS and PACS systems, which play a crucial role in rural cooperative structures.

The students are also learning the core concept of cooperation—how collective efforts and mutual support can lead to sustainable economic development.

Sona Devi University to Launch School of Journalism
The Ghatshila-based university will launch its School of Journalism in the academic session 2025. According to Registrar Dr. Gulab Singh Azad, a one-year PG Diploma in Journalism has been designed to meet media industry needs.
The course fee is Rs 1 lakh, with up to 30% scholarship for media-affiliated students. Training will be provided by experienced faculty and professionals from media houses. The program emphasizes practical skills from news gathering to presentation.
