Jamshedpur, March 10: Students and faculty members of Sona Devi University participated in a post-Budget webinar titled “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas – Fulfilling the Aspirations of the People” at the Vivekananda Auditorium.

The event brought together participants from institutions across the country to discuss key policy directions following the Union Budget and explore ways to align education with employment opportunities.

The session was attended by the university’s Vice-Chancellor Dr Braj Mohan Pat Pingua, and Registrar, Dr Nit Nayana, along with students and faculty members, who listened to insights shared by scholars and experts from various institutions.

Focus on education and employment

During the webinar, participants discussed several themes, including creating employment pathways through education, setting up AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics) content creator labs, establishing women’s hostels for STEM students, and the proposed National Telescope Mission.

The discussions focused on how education and skill development can be aligned with emerging employment opportunities.

PM addresses participants

The webinar was addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who emphasised the importance of inclusive growth and fulfilling the aspirations of citizens.

More than 1,000 institutions across the country participated in the programme and shared suggestions.

Policy suggestions discussed

According to organisers, the central government will review the recommendations emerging from these discussions and may incorporate selected suggestions into future policies and programmes.

The main objective of the deliberations was to engage stakeholders from academia and related sectors to convert strategic reforms announced in the Union Budget into practical and outcome-oriented frameworks.

Participants also highlighted the need for future-ready curricula, stronger skill development pathways and a robust innovation ecosystem.

The fourth session of the webinar series, organised under the Ministry of Education, focused on reforms such as education-to-employment initiatives, AVGC creator labs, university townships, women’s hostels for STEM students, the National Telescope Mission, and skill development programmes for persons with disabilities.
