Jamshedpur, March 6: Students of B.Sc Agriculture Science and the School of Biotechnology from Sona Devi University, Ghatshila, visited the Indian Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology (IIAB) farm at Garhkhatanga in Ranchi on Friday as part of an academic exposure tour.

The educational visit was organised to provide students with practical exposure to advanced research in agricultural biotechnology, helping them connect classroom learning with real-world scientific applications.

Exposure to modern agricultural biotechnology

During the visit, the students were introduced to various aspects of modern agricultural biotechnology research, including molecular breeding, genomics, and advanced laboratory techniques used in crop improvement and agricultural science.

Faculty members said such academic tours play an important role in enhancing practical learning and encouraging students to pursue innovation and research careers in agriculture and biotechnology.

Students interact with IIAB researchers

A total of 18 students participated in the visit, accompanied by Sayan Banerjee, Assistant Professor at the School of Agriculture Science, and Patatri Mali, Assistant Professor at the same school, along with research scholar Sonal Kumari from the Department of Biotechnology.
