Jamshedpur, Oct 3: Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Tata Power Mumbai Distribution to develop an 80 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project.

The project will combine solar, wind and battery storage technologies to deliver reliable power during peak demand hours, helping stabilize the grid.

Scheduled for completion in 24 months, it will generate around 315 million units of electricity annually and reduce over 0.25 million tons of CO₂ emissions each year.

A key feature is the 4-hour peak power supply with 90% availability, enabling Tata Power Mumbai Distribution to meet rising energy needs and regulatory renewable obligations.

The clean power generated will be integrated into Mumbai’s distribution network, benefiting nearly 8 lakh residential, commercial and industrial consumers.
