Jamshedpur, Feb 12:  Tata Steel is inviting applications from transgender candidates for various positions across multiple locations in Tata Steel and its subsidiary companies.

Transgender candidates with any of the following qualifications can apply: Matriculation in English or ITI (AITT Certificate with ITI will be preferred) or graduation in any discipline or diploma in engineering in any discipline from any institute recognized by AICTE or UGC or degree in B.E./B. Tech in any discipline from any institute, recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or University Grants Commission (UGC).

All shortlisted candidates will undergo a selection process, which may include a written test and interview as per the requirement.

Officials said the last date for application is February 15, Thursday.

Notably, Tata Steel has set a target of having a 25 per cent diverse workforce by 2025.

Tata Steel has further expanded its transgender base by onboarding a new batch of 18 transgender people.

In December 2021, Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division onboarded 14 transgender people as ‘Heavy Earth Moving Machinery’ operators at its mines.
