Jamshedpur, Dec 21: Tata Steel has launched Tata Dureco – the branded Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS) in its journey towards sustainable value creation from by-products.

GGBS, a downstream product from Blast Furnace Slag has been successfully established as an alternative cementitious material in the construction industry.

Over the years, this product has generated good demand from the Ready-Mix-Concrete and Infrastructure Projects across geographies.

Partial replacement of cement

Tata Dureco was formally unveiled by Rajiv Mangal, Vice President, Safety, Health & Sustainability, Tata Steel at the Brand Launch event that was organised by the Industrial By-Products Management Division of Tata Steel in Kolkata last evening, in the presence of valued customers, eminent experts from infrastructure and construction sector and senior leadership of Tata Steel.

Speaking during the launch of the brand, Rajiv Mangal said: “We at Tata Steel are excited to welcome a new brand, Tata Dureco-Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS), a sustainable building material used as a partial replacement of cement in concrete”.

He also added that “After successfully establishing the branded Slag products–Tata Aggreto and Tata Nirman, the introduction of Tata Dureco will further strengthen Tata Steel’s sustainable product offering portfolio.”
