Jamshedpur, Dec 7: Tata Steel UISL managing director Ritu Raj Sinha passed away on Sunday afternoon, leaving the steel city stunned. The 58-year-old senior corporate leader collapsed at home after sudden nose bleeding, following which family members rushed him to Tata Main Hospital, where he was declared dead.

According to sources, Sinha breathed his last at 1.56 pm.

Sudden demise shocks corporate and trade union circles

The unexpected passing of Ritu Raj Sinha has sent shockwaves across Jamshedpur. Corporate executives, trade union members and long-time colleagues expressed disbelief, trying to understand what led to the sudden loss of one of the most respected leaders of the steel city.

Long and distinguished career at Tata Steel

Ritu Raj Sinha had served Tata Steel in several key positions over the years before taking over as managing director of Tata Steel UISL a couple of years ago. Known for his efficient and forward-looking leadership, he played a major role in introducing new civic facilities across the Jamshedpur township, contributing significantly to improving the city’s infrastructure and overall urban experience.

Apart from his corporate achievements, Sinha was widely admired for being soft-spoken, humble and approachable, both within and outside the company.

Last rites on December 9

The last rites of Ritu Raj Sinha will be performed at Parvati Ghat in Bistupur on December 9 around 11 am.
