Hyderabad, Dec 9: Akbaruddin Owaisi, an AIMIM MLA, was sworn in as the Telangana Legislative Assembly’s Pro-tem speaker on Saturday at Raj Bhawan in Hyderabad.
Tamilisai Soundararajan, the governor of Telangana, administered the oath. Chief Minister of Telangana Revanth Reddy was also in attendance at the event.
Akbaruddin Owaisi was named pro tem speaker of the state assembly by the governor on Friday. The third Telangana State Legislative Assembly is scheduled to convene for its maiden session on Saturday.

The Pro-tem Speaker temporarily oversees the Assembly session until the recently elected members are sworn in and a Speaker is formally appointed.
On Thursday, twelve MLAs were sworn in as ministers in a newly formed cabinet in Telangana, alongside the newly appointed Chief Minister, Anumula Revanth Reddy, in Hyderabad.
