Jamshedpur, February 23: Day temperatures recorded a noticeable rise across Jharkhand over the past 24 hours, with dry weather conditions prevailing across the state, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Meteorological Centre, Ranchi.

No rainfall was recorded at any observation station during the period.

Chaibasa Records Highest Maximum Temperature

As per data based on 8.30 am surface observations, Chaibasa emerged as the hottest place in the state, recording a maximum temperature of 34.8°C — 5.3 degrees above normal.

Jamshedpur followed at 33.8°C (+2.1°C), while Bokaro registered 33.1°C (+5.3°C). Daltonganj recorded 32.8°C (+2.3°C), and Ranchi reported a comparatively lower maximum of 29.0°C, marginally above normal by 0.5 degrees.

Automated Weather Station (AWS) data showed that Baharagora in East Singhbhum matched Chaibasa with a maximum temperature of 34.8°C (+2.2°C). Seraikela recorded 34.0°C, Jagannathpur (West Singhbhum) 31.9°C, Bano (Simdega) 31.1°C, and Deoghar 30.5°C. Hazaribagh reported 28.7°C, while Koderma recorded 29.2°C.

Minimum Temperatures Remain Moderate

The lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded at Gumla at 12.0°C.

Ranchi registered a minimum of 14.0°C (normal), Daltonganj 13.6°C (+0.6°C), Bokaro Thermal 14.5°C (+3.0°C), Jamshedpur 18.8°C (+3.4°C), and Chaibasa 16.4°C (+1.5°C).

Koderma recorded a minimum of 15.1°C, Khunti 13.1°C, Latehar 13.5°C, Lohardaga 12.7°C, and Pakur 15.3°C.

Rainfall remained nil at all AWS stations.

Visibility and City Observations

The lowest visibility was recorded at the Meteorological Centre, Ranchi, at 2,000 metres.

Within Ranchi city, Hinoo reported a maximum temperature of 29.0°C and a minimum of 14.0°C, with no rainfall recorded.

The IMD observations indicate a steady rise in daytime temperatures across several districts, particularly in the Kolhan region, while night temperatures have remained relatively moderate.
