Three-day MDP for DVC executives concludes at IIM Ranchi

Ranchi, Jan 8: A three-day Management Development Program (MDP) on Strategic Financial Management for senior executives of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) concluded at IIM Ranchi today.

The program, which began on January 6, aimed at enhancing the strategic financial leadership and decision-making capabilities of DVC’s senior-level executives.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by distinguished speakers, including Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director IIM Ranchi, Prof. Amit Sachan, Dean-Executive Education and Consulting and Prof. Tanusree Dutta, Dean-Academics.

Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director IIM emphasised the importance of strategic financial management in addressing the current challenges and opportunities within the corporate landscape.

He also underscored the critical role of financial leaders in driving sustainable growth for large organizations like DVC.

Comprehensive curriculum and hands-on learning

The MDP’s curriculum, thoughtfully designed by IIM Ranchi’s experienced faculty, focuses on providing practical knowledge and tools in key areas of financial strategy.

The sessions covered various topics such as Strategic Leadership, Design Thinking for Profit Maximization, Balanced Scorecard Execution, Financial Statement Analysis, Strategic Cost Management, Capital Budgeting, Project Finance, Risk Mitigation, and Corporate Social Responsibility.

As part of the program’s objectives, DVC executives engaged in hands-on learning and discussions that sharpened their financial decision-making skills, particularly in the context of large-scale projects and sustainable business practices.

This MDP highlighted IIM Ranchi’s ongoing commitment to fostering leadership excellence and empowering organizations to navigate complex financial environments.

The program also reaffirmed DVC’s dedication to strengthening its leadership capacity in managing strategic financial decisions to ensure its continued success in the energy sector.
