Jamshedpur, Jan 28: Jamshedpur police achieved a breakthrough in the high-profile Kairav Gandhi kidnapping case, arresting three kidnappers during a carefully planned operation and rescuing the abducted youth unharmed.

The arrests were made when the accused were shifting Kairav Gandhi from one hideout to another. Police also seized the vehicle and weapons used in the crime.

Surveillance Led to Breakthrough

According to police sources, soon after the kidnapping, law enforcement agencies activated both technical surveillance and human intelligence networks to track the movement of the accused.

About three days ago, police received specific information regarding the kidnappers’ hideout. However, officers decided against an immediate raid due to concerns over the victim’s safety.

Strategic Patience to Ensure Victim’s Safety

Ensuring Kairav Gandhi’s safe recovery remained the top priority. Police chose to wait for the safest opportunity to act rather than risk a confrontation at the hideout.

Special teams in plain clothes were deployed to monitor the kidnappers’ movements, phone activity, vehicles, and contacts without alerting them.

Swift Interception During Shift

Police received information that the kidnappers were planning to move the victim. As soon as the suspect vehicle came onto the road, police teams already positioned nearby cordoned off the area and intercepted the car.

Within minutes, all three accused were overpowered and taken into custody. Kairav Gandhi was found safe inside the vehicle. Weapons and the car used in the kidnapping were also seized.

Senior police officials said the operation was executed without any untoward incident and credited meticulous planning and discipline for its success.

The arrested accused are being interrogated, and police hope to identify and arrest other members of the kidnapping gang, including the mastermind. Investigators are also probing when, where, and under whose direction the kidnapping was planned.

Relief for Family, Praise for Police

Following Kairav Gandhi’s safe recovery on Monday, his family expressed immense relief.

The operation has drawn widespread appreciation across the city, with citizens and organisations, including the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), praising the Jamshedpur Police for their professionalism and strategic expertise.
