Jamshedpur, Dec 27: Three persons were killed and another seriously injured as a sand-laden dumper collided with another stationary dumper in Ghatsila on the NH-33 about 45 km away from here on Wednesday morning.
Two of those killed were labourers identified as Pabitra Karmakar (23) and Sanoj Karmakar (24) where the third was driver of the dumper and was identified as Ambuj Mahto (26).
The one who was seriously injured is also a labourer and has been admitted to MGM Medical College Hospital (MGMMCH), but his name is yet to be ascertained.
The mishap took place near Manoharpur Colony located along the NH-33 in Ghatsila early in the morning.

Two labourers, driver died on the spot
According to police, a dumper had a breakdown and was being mended with the help of labourers on the side of the NH-33.
As the labourers were busy in mending the vehicle, a sand-ladened dumper came at a breakneck speed from behind and hit the stationary dumper. As a result of the collision, two labourers were killed on the spot and one more was seriously injured.
In the collision, the driver of the dumper which caused the collision from behind was also killed on the spot.
According to police, the cabin of the killer dumper was damaged so much that the police had to press a gas-cutting machine for retrieving the body.
The police sources said that Prabitra Karmakar was a resident of Ghatsila whereas Sanoj Karmakar and Ambuj Mahto were residents of Rajnagar and Seraikela respectively.
