Thunderstorms, rain likely across Jharkhand till March 31

Jamshedpur, March 26: Jharkhand is likely to witness partly cloudy weather with intermittent thunderstorms over the next few days, according to the latest meteorological outlook.

Rain, Thunderstorm Activity (March 27–29)

Between March 27 and March 29, light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms are expected at isolated places across the state. Most areas may be affected on March 27, while north-western regions may remain largely unaffected on March 28. By March 29, thunder and lightning activity is likely to be concentrated over the north-eastern parts.

Outlook Till March 31

Similar conditions are expected to continue in the following days. On March 30, eastern and adjoining central regions may receive light to moderate rainfall or thunderstorms at isolated places. On March 31, most parts of the state may remain partly cloudy with chances of scattered rain and thunderstorms, except the north-west where such activity is less likely.

Cause and Advisory

A trough extending from Gangetic West Bengal to south Chhattisgarh across Odisha at about 1.5 km above mean sea level is influencing the current weather conditions. In the past 24 hours, very light rainfall was recorded at isolated places, with Ranchi receiving the highest at 1.5 mm. Thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds of 30–40 kmph are likely at isolated places around March 27. No major warnings have been issued for the remaining period, though localised developments cannot be ruled out.
