Melbourne, Feb 3: Australian opening batsman, Travis Head, has been rested for the remaining ODI and T20I fixtures against West Indies after a busy Test summer.

Josh Hazlewood has been added to the team for the second ODI only against the West Indies at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), cricket.com.au stated.

Head will take a break before Australia’s Test and T20I series against New Zealand this month, and he won’t be playing in the next two ODIs and all three T20Is against the Windies. Head will return home to Adelaide.

Pacer Xavier Bartlett, who made an unforgettable international debut in the first ODI and recorded figures of 4/17, will also be rested from tomorrow’s second ODI.

According to a Cricket Australia statement, Xavier’s “ongoing management” led to the decision, given that he missed the first half of the domestic season after recovering from a back stress injury.

In the opening One-Day International, Steve Smith (79*), Cameron Green (77*), and Josh Inglis (65*) hit clutch fifty-scores to lead their side to a facile eight-wicket victory as they chased 232 set by the Windies.
