Churu, July 9: Two Indian Air Force pilots lost their lives on Wednesday when a twin-seater Jaguar trainer aircraft crashed during a routine training sortie near Rajasthan’s Churu district.

The IAF expressed deep sorrow over the loss and extended condolences to the families of the deceased aircrew.

The Air Force confirmed that no civilian property was damaged in the crash.

An official statement posted on its social media platform X said that a court of inquiry has been initiated to determine the cause of the accident.

Upon receiving information about the aircraft crash, the administrative officials immediately reached the accident site. According to villagers, they heard a loud noise in the sky, followed by flames and smoke rising from the fields.

The IAF described the incident as a tragic mishap involving one of its Jaguar trainer jets and reiterated its support for the grieving families in this time of profound loss.

An IAF Jaguar Trainer aircraft met with an accident during a routine training mission and crashed near Churu in Rajasthan, today. Both pilots sustained fatal injuries in the accident. No damage to any civil property has been reported.
