Kupwara, Oct 14: Two terrorists were shot dead by security forces along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district’s Machil and Dudniyal areas, Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army said. Extensive search operations have been launched across the sector and are still underway.
The encounter took place after troops deployed along the LoC detected suspicious movement near the Kupwara sector around 7 PM. Acting swiftly, the soldiers opened fire at the suspected infiltrators. The exchange led to the killing of two terrorists, according to officials.

Additional forces were immediately mobilised, and a coordinated operation was initiated to secure the region. Multiple search parties are combing the area to ensure no other militants are hiding nearby.
The Indian Army confirmed that the counter-infiltration operation remains active, and further details on the incident are expected as the situation develops.
