UGC declares Daksha University in Ranchi ‘fake’; 32 institutions blacklisted across India

Ranchi/New Delhi, February 21: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has identified Daksha University (Vocational and Life Skill Education), Ranchi, as a fake university, warning that degrees issued by it are not valid for jobs or higher studies.

In a public notice, the UGC listed 32 institutions across India that are operating without recognition from either the Central or State governments. Citing Sections 2(f) and 3 of the UGC Act, the Commission clarified that these entities are not authorised to award degrees.

Students and parents in Jharkhand have been advised to verify the recognition status of institutions before seeking admission.
