London, July 5: In the general elections held in Britain, there has been a major upheaval. According to the emerging results on Friday, the Labour Party is heading towards a historic victory after 14 years.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has accepted his defeat amid his party’s poor performance in the elections. He stated that he takes responsibility for the defeat and congratulates Keir Starmer on his victory.

Labor Party won 318 seats in initial results
In the early results, the Labour Party has won 318 seats, while the ruling Conservative Party has only secured 67 seats so far. Results for 454 out of 650 seats have been announced.
The Liberal Democrats have won 32 seats, the Scottish National Party has won four seats, and Reform UK has also won four seats. The Green Party has won just one seat so far.
Britain’s Prime Minister and Conservative Party leader Rishi Sunak is pitted against Keir Starmer of the Labor Party.

Labor Party expected to win 410 out of 650 seas
Keir Starmer has won the Holborn and St Pancras seat in London. To form a government in the UK, 326 seats are needed. Keir Starmer is set to become the new Prime Minister of Britain.
According to exit polls, the Labour Party is headed for a significant victory. As per the exit polls, out of 650 seats, the Labour Party is winning 410 seats. The Conservative Party might be reduced to 131 seats.

Keir Starmer, a lawyer by profession, was elected the new leader of the Labour Party in 2020, replacing Jeremy Corbyn. He became an MP for the first time in 2015. After winning his seat, Keir Starmer said that Britain has voted for change.
