Dhanbad, Nov 17: A five-day “Educators and Academic Leaders Future Leadership Nurturing Programme” (November 17–21) commenced on Monday at IIT ISM Dhanbad.
The programme is being held under the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP)—a flagship leadership development initiative of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Participants include educators and academic leaders from several premier institutions such as Ranchi University, Vinoba Bhave University (Hazaribagh), Sidho Kanho Birsha University (Dumka), Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University (Dhanbad), and IIEST Shibpur, among others.

While inaugurating the programme at the FDC Conference Hall-1, i2h Building, IIT (ISM) Director Prof. Sukumar Mishra highlighted the crucial role of teacher training in transforming the educational ecosystem. He emphasized that leadership development initiatives empower educators to inspire excellence and foster academic innovation.
Prof. Mrinalini Pandey, coordinator of the NFL programme, noted that the initiative brings together a diverse community of educators committed to strengthening teaching standards and shaping future-ready academic leadership.
Organisers stated that the NFL Programme reflects IIT (ISM) Dhanbad’s commitment to educational excellence and aligns with the broader goals of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme.

They added that the sustained support of the Ministry of Education through MMTTP has been instrumental in implementing this transformative initiative.
The five-day programme aims to inspire, equip, and empower educators to unlock their leadership potential and contribute meaningfully to national development and educational advancement.
