Ranchi, Nov. 18: Usha Martin University held a programme titled “Rhythms of India” on Tuesday, organised by the Indian Knowledge System Wing in association with SPIC MACAY.

The event featured a violin recital by Durga Sharma, accompanied on the tabla by Pradeep Bhattacharya. The programme brought together traditional and contemporary melodic forms and offered students an opportunity to experience Indian classical music directly and thoughtfully.

The event supported the larger purpose of the Indian Knowledge System by encouraging an understanding of India’s artistic heritage. Such programmes help students appreciate classical forms that have shaped music learning across generations. They also strengthen cultural awareness and allow young people to see how classical traditions continue to influence present-day artistic practice.

The programme was attended by Dr Anil Kumar Mishra, Campus Director, and Prof B N Sinha, Dean Academics, along with students and staff of the university. The event was organised by Anupama Verma, Coordinator of the IKS Wing.
