Ranchi, January 20: The School of Nursing at Usha Martin University organised a one-day blood donation camp along with free health and eye check-ups at its Angara campus. The programme was held in collaboration with Orchid Blood Centre under the banner of the Shonit Foundation.

The initiative aimed to promote voluntary blood donation and raise awareness about preventive healthcare among students, faculty members, and staff of the university.

Positive Response from Students and Staff

The camp received an encouraging response, leading to the collection of 40 units of blood after proper registration and medical screening. All procedures were carried out in line with standard safety protocols.

As a mark of appreciation, the Shonit Foundation presented certificates, mementos, and T-shirts to blood donors and volunteers who supported the drive and ensured its smooth conduct.

Free Health and Eye Check-ups Conducted

In addition to blood donation, free general health check-ups were provided to around 115 individuals during the camp. Nearly 180 faculty members and students also benefited from complimentary eye examinations conducted as part of the programme.

The university said the initiative reflects its commitment to community service, health awareness, and social responsibility.
