Jamshedpur, May 13: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Sanjay Kumar has stated that a section of people belonging to the minority community is violating the Jharkhand Bovine Animals Prohibition of Slaughter Act – 2005 here in the state, including in the steel city.

Kumar who is the spokesperson of the VHP’s Jharkhand state unit revealed that despite a constitutional ban in place on the slaughter and sale of cows and other bovine animals in the state since 2005, the slaughter of the said animals continues here, thus making a mockery of the Constitution.

“The issue of the Jharkhand Bovine Animals Prohibition of Slaughter Act’s violation assumes significance as the INDI alliance is spreading the narrative that if the BJP-led NDA retains power, then the Constitution will be tampered with.  The Constitution is already in danger as the people belonging to the minority community, considered to be an integral part of the INDI alliance partners, are making a mockery of it (the Constitution) in the state,” said the VHP leader while talking to The Jharkhand Story.

He pointed out it is an open secret that all the INDI alliance partners follow the minority appeasement policy to an ultimate extent and wondered what will be the situation if eventually, the INDI alliance succeeds in coming to power this time.

The VHP leader said that the fact that the Jharkhand Bovine Animals Prohibition of Slaughter Act is being violated here came to his notice not utilizing any survey carried out by the organisation, but from an individual who belongs coincidentally to the Muslim community itself.

“The information that bovine slaughter and sale of beef are being perpetuated in Jamshedpur reached me through a complaint made by a Muslim woman, Anwari Begum only. Anwari who resides with her family in an apartment near Bhalubasa mosque in Sitaramdera thana area of the city explained recently how are the beef items being served and sold at two eateries near her house. She also pointed out that the beef comes to the eateries after cows and other bovines are slaughtered in the Azadnagar area in Mango and also in the Haldipokhar area in the district early morning every day. She claimed to have informed the police station concerned several times, but no action was taken over the issue and had to approach the VHP for a redressal,” Kumar told this correspondent.

The VHP leader, on being queried, said he wanted to highlight the issue among the electorate as to how the INDI alliance partners, including Congress and JMM, are shutting a blind eye towards the violation of the sacred Constitution by the people of their most favoured community while spreading fabricated narrative against the NDA.
