PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, January 20: Jharkhand continued to experience above-normal daytime temperatures while nights remained relatively cool, according to the Realised Weather Report issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ranchi.

Chaibasa recorded the highest maximum temperature in Jharkhand at 32°C, which is nearly 7 degrees above normal, indicating a steady rise in daytime heat. Jamshedpur followed with a maximum temperature of 30.5°C, while Ranchi recorded 27.2°C, both higher than the seasonal average.

Cool Night Temperatures Continue Across the State

Despite the warmer days, cool night conditions persisted across several districts. Khunti reported the lowest minimum temperature at 8.6°C. Ranchi and Jamshedpur recorded minimum temperatures of 11°C and 11.9°C, respectively.

No Rainfall, No Fog or Cold Wave Conditions

The IMD reported that no rainfall occurred anywhere in Jharkhand during the past 24 hours. There were also no reports of fog or cold wave conditions across the state.

However, reduced visibility was observed in parts of the Kolhan region. Jamshedpur recorded the lowest visibility at 1,200 metres during the observation period.

Dry Weather Likely to Continue

Meteorologists said the contrast between warm days and cool nights is expected to continue, with dry weather conditions likely to prevail across Jharkhand over the next few days.
