St John’s, Oct 5: West Indies have announced their T20I and ODI squads for the upcoming white-ball tour of Sri Lanka, which will include a three-match T20I series followed by a three-match ODI series against the host team.
Senior players Andre Russell, Nicholas Pooran, Akeal Hosein, and Shimron Hetmyer, have withdrawn from the upcoming three-match T20I series in Sri Lanka due to personal reasons.
All three T20 Internationals will be played at Dambulla on October 14, 16 and 18.
Rovman Powell remains the T20I captain, while Roston Chase will continue to serve as vice-captain.
According to a CWI (Cricket West Indies) release, the newly restructured selection committee, led by head coach Darren Sammy, has recalled opening batter Evin Lewis and Brandon King. Additionally, pace bowling all-rounders Terrance Hinds and Shamar Springer have received their first call-ups to the team.

Lewis is rejoining the squad after the 2022 T20 World Cup, whereas King is making his return after healing from a side injury that significantly sidelined him from participating in the T20 World Cup earlier this year.
Shai Hope will retain his position as the ODI captain, with Alzarri Joseph will be the vice-captain.
Young wicketkeeper-batter Jewel Andrew has received his first call-up to the ODI squad, while Sherfane Rutherford and Brandon King are also making their return.
