Jamshedpur, Jan 1: A western disturbance passing through northern parts of the country impacted Jharkhand’s weather resulting in cloud formation and dense fog in isolated pockets of the state today.
IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre also issued a light rain alert in isolated pockets, especially the northwestern region.
The western disturbance as a cyclonic circulation was lying over north Haryana and the neighbourhood between 1.5 to 3.1 km above mean sea level.

However, the trough aloft in middle tropospheric levels at 5.8 Km above mean sea level now runs roughly along Long. 74°E to the north of Lat. 30°N.
The induced cyclonic circulation over west Rajasthan and the neighbourhood merged with the cyclonic circulation over north Haryana and the neighbourhood associated with the western disturbance.

Minimum temperature witnessed a rise in most parts of the state. Met statistics suggested that the minimum temperature was above 10 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state during the past 24 hours.
Dry weather prevailed over the state in the past 24 hours, while shallow to moderate fog was also recorded at isolated places over the north-west, southern and central parts of the state.
