Jamshedpur, Nov 3: The western disturbance passing through the upper layers of the atmosphere impacted Jharkhand’s weather today.

Several places in southern and central Jharkhand including Jamshedpur, Chaibasa, Ranchi and Khunti woke up to cloudy conditions with a rise in minimum temperature.

IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of light rain in isolated areas today.

The western disturbance as a trough in middle tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level was running roughly along Long. 74°E to the north of Lat. 30°N.

Statistics revealed that dry weather prevailed over the state during the past 24 hours.

The highest maximum temperature of  33.8°C was recorded at Godda while the lowest minimum temperature of 18.1°C was recorded at Ramgarh, during the past 24 hours.

The cloud cover would result in a rise in night temperature during the next 48 hours, said a weather department official.
