Jamshedpur, Oct 1: The Jamshedpur Forest Division will organise a Natural Awareness Rally (Prabhat Pheri) in the city on October 2 as part of Wildlife Week 2026, calling on citizens to strengthen efforts to protect forests, wildlife and natural habitats.
Themed “Walk for Nature, Protect Wildlife!”, the rally will begin at 6.30 am from Van Bhawan in Sonari and return to the same venue after passing through several prominent locations in Jamshedpur.
Participants have been asked to report at the venue by 5.30 am, according to the programme released by the forest department.
Wildlife Week rally route in Jamshedpur
The Wildlife Week rally in Jamshedpur will pass through Circuit House Roundabout, Jubilee Park, Tata Steel Zoological Park and Marine Drive before returning to Van Bhawan.
The event aims to raise public awareness about forest conservation, wildlife protection and biodiversity while encouraging students, young people and nature enthusiasts to take a more active role in conservation efforts.
Forest department seeks greater public participation
“Wildlife conservation is not the responsibility of the forest department alone. Such awareness programmes help connect young people and the wider community with nature and encourage them to become responsible custodians of our forests and wildlife,” a forest official said.
The official said the rally would also provide a platform to spread awareness about protecting wildlife and preserving natural habitats for future generations.
Awareness campaigns for the rally are also being conducted in schools and colleges, sources said. Students and young people are being encouraged to participate in the morning march and raise awareness about the need to protect forests and wildlife.
The rally is being organised by the Divisional Forest Officer, Jamshedpur Forest Division, as part of the Wildlife Week 2026 celebrations.
The campaign carries the broader message: “Healthy Forests, Healthy Future.”
